How to Apply for the Chemung Canal Trust Company Visa Platinum Credit Card
To apply to get the Chemung Canal Trust credit card, you need to fill the online application at chemungcanal.com. To use our guide, you must be 18 years old and resident of the United States. Step 1 - Go to ChemungCanal.com
Once you are on the ChemungCanal.com website, go to the Chemung Canal Trust Company Visa Platinum Credit Card section. First, find the PERSONAL BANKING link.
Then, use the drop down menu to look for the Credit & Debit cards option. When you select it, you will be redirected to the other side.
You will be shown the entire Chemung Canal web banking online credit card options. Look for the VISA Platinum Credit Card. Then, look for the Click here to apply button to proceed to the application form.
You will be redirected to the Visa Platinum Chemung Canal Trust company site. There you can find more about the benefits before proceeding. When you are ready, click on the Customer Credit Cards option.
On the next page, you will have to make a major choice.
There are two different platinum cards you can choose. The difference is the APR, and the benefits it will give you. You may make a choice between:
- Chemung Canal Trust Rewards Platinum
- Chemung Canal Trust Cash Rewards Platinum
Each credit card has different advantages. The main differences are:
- The APR changes 1% to 3% on each option.
- With the rewards platinum cards, you get points back. With the cashback rewards, you get cash back opportunities. Cash back is much more flexible than points to fulfill your goals.
Step 2 - Fill in the Application form
Before proceeding, you have to choose what type of application you are willing to fill. It may be an individual or joint application. When you use a joint application, you may add your credit history to get a better credit.
When you chose a Joint application, then you are required to tick the boxes of Applicant and Co-Applicant. That is because you are going to fill the information for both on the same procedure.
Once you chose the right application, you will be given a form to fill. The form needs you to fill the following information:
- Full Name
- Your mother's maiden last name
- Email Address
- Main phone number
- Alternate phone number (optional)
- Physical Address
- Social security number
- Date of birth
- Employer name
- Occupation
- How long have you worked there
- Work Address
- Housing information
Once you finish, click the Next button. If you chose a Joint application, then you will be required to fill the co-applicant information. Notice that you will need the same information than for the primary applicant.
Fill the application form of the co-applicant, and proceed with the registration.
Step 3 - Add some Optional information
The following information on the application form is optional. You may add an authorized user to take advantage of your spending limit. If you have somebody, you trust with such freedom; this is the time to request a new credit card for him or her. You will be required the following data:
- Full name
- Relationship with you
The next section is to make balance transfers. You may add up to 4 different balance transfer information. If you don't want to deal with it at this moment, you may do it later, after your credit is approved. Be careful with balance transfers, because they have different APR and general conditions. All of it should be specified in your contract
Finally, you may add some comments before proceeding and continuing to the next step.
Click the Next button at the bottom of your screen.
Step 4 - Terms and Conditions
Read the contract with the terms and conditions of your new Chemung Canal Trust Company Visa Platinum Credit Card. You will be given the details on fees, rates and any costs you should be aware. It is important that you read all this section to avoid future penalties or charges.
Step 5 - Agreements
First of all, you must agree with the Important Disclosure and Terms. Select the box to agree.
Next, you confirm you have the electronic means to manage your account. Again, select the checkbox for agreement.
We recommend you to use the Print Disclosure button to keep a digital copy of your contract. Once you finish, click the Submit button. Your request will be sent for validation. After your credit line is approved, you will receive an email confirmation and your credit card will be shipped to your home.
